Freed Indeed Driving School and Capital Area Driving School teach teens to be safe, defensive and focused drivers. Their instructors help prepare students to take the road test with confidence.
To successfully achieve this goal, Freed Indeed and Capital Area Driving School incorporate the following four values.
Certified instructors provide patient guidance and instruction to help students develop behind-the-wheel driving skills.
When behind-the-wheel, students are expected to focus on driving. The dangers of distracted driving are discussed are regularly emphasized in the classroom and during driving lessons. Curriculum includes video interviews that show how lives have been affected by distracted driving.
Learning support is freely offered to students, regardless of learning ability. All instructors are certified to teach driver education and many instructors are certified teachers, including special education teachers who can provide support for students with learning challenges at no additional cost. Test reading is provided and test retakes are allowed.
Road Test topics and scenarios are discussed during driving lessons. Instructors use behind-the-wheel experiences to teach students about what to expect on the road test.
Freed Indeed Driving School was established in November of 2011 by Marvin Freed. Freed was a driving instructor for local driving schools for 12 years before he decided to start his own school. As a high school special education teacher, Freed enjoyed working with teens and recognized the importance of teaching safe, defensive driving skills to students – including those with special needs. His experience and training allows him to offer learning accommodations to students with learning disabilities. In 2017, Freed became the manager for Capital Area Driving School and now sub-contracts with seven instructors who provide quality education to teens in the Greater Lansing Area.
